Taking Care of Your Jewellery

Polish your silver jewellery frequently with a soft dry or silver cloth to avoid tarnish, as jewellery can tarnish with time and wear. You can simply clean your sterling silver jewellery with a very soft brush and a little bit of soapy water. Rinse with hot water then get it looking shiny with chamois leather. If it’s dirty, soak it in water and washing-up liquid for 15 minutes.

Gemstones are generally cleaned using soapy water and a soft brush. Wipe afterwards with a soft cloth. However, check with your jeweller whether you can clean any gemstone jewellery normally or whether it requires special cleaning.

Protect your jewellery by keeping it in a box and store it in a cool, dry place. Keep pieces separate to avoid scratching.

Try and avoid your jewellery coming into contact with perfume, chemicals and so on, and remember to remove jewellery when bathing, swimming or undertaking manual or domestic chores.
